How can post partum yoga help you?
Practicing yoga post natal can be a great support to reclaim and rediscover your body post baby, helping to gently strengthen, tone and release tension. We focus on recovery and restoration.
This yoga course is designed specifically for new mums where we focus on poses of enhancing vitality and increasing energy while also very gently focusing on flexibility and strength.
We also look at some of the common conditions following birth including:

Post birth everything takes time but my postnatal course supports you in your journey as a mum. Together we will look to restore the hormonal balance to ease the nervous system, build strength in the spine and support you and your body for holding and feeding your baby.

It’s important to find comfort in your own body after the birth. This course creates a space for helping to bring your body and mind back into a state of balance. It is about encouraging physical and emotional postnatal healing while helping to re-energise, strengthen and re-align the physical body and start to strengthen your pelvic floor, stomach muscles and relieve tension in the back and shoulders as well as enjoying some time for deep relaxation and fun with your baby.
Our mum and baby yoga classes are great at enhancing bonding and communication between mum and baby and giving the opportunity to bring some fun into the early stages of parenthood. Gentle yoga moves as well as songs keep the classes light hearted and enjoyable for both mother and child.
We welcome mums of newborn’s to engage in developing a sensory and intimate relationship through gentle movement between mum and baby and really working developmentally with babies. The somatic trust between mum and baby all aids in their brain development. Other benefits include

Is this course for me?
Are you looking to return to movement in a safe and enjoyable way for a better post-partum experience? After birth, yoga can be practiced from 6 weeks, all the way through to 6 months plus. You’ll be introduced to mindfully curated exercises to help your body post birth and balance your hormones.

Reintroducing any kind of exercise after having a baby can feel both confusing and scary. The course is simple and safe, and for you to take at your own pace. Your body has undergone a massive life changing event and it takes time to heal and re-strengthen. You have nothing but time ahead of you and so there is no need to rush the process.

How to be ready for your home practice?
The space that is created during a studio class can be created in your home too, here’s how to make your space extra special.
Make your space cosy! Just like in class find a nice corner in your house or room and make this your sacred space. Use pillows, blankets as needed for both mum and baby. Feed, care for baby as you need throughout class.
Create an atmosphere - light a candle, put on some music.
Join in your pjs or anything that is most comfortable for you.
